It’s the best possible outcome for Lionel Messi after moving to another continent for soccer. Messi has been provided the comfort of playing alongside familiar faces like Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. But David Beckham has taken an additional step to bring his best friend, Luis Suarez, to the team. But according to an expert, Suarez would not be as efficient for Inter Miami as he was at FC Barcelona.
Suarez of FC Barcelona, independent of Messi, was still a reputed goal scorer. Before arriving from Liverpool, the Uruguayan player was already established as a potent striker in England and the Eredivisie. But his synergy with Messi in Barcelona was interstellar. However, it would be heartwarming if they could display even a fraction of their glorious days in the Catalan club.

The impact of Suarez was so huge that Barcelona won the treble immediately after he arrived. He, along with Lionel Messi and Neymar, were a nightmare for opponents. But Julien Laurens, speaking to the ESPN FC podcast of The Gab & Juls Show, said, “I think he still has a bad knee, and he’s not fully fit, certainly not the Luis Suarez that we saw at Liverpool or Barcelona.”
The 36-year-old has been suffering leg injuries since his days at FC Barcelona. But things started to get severe this year as he was diagnosed with arthritis and is on regular injections for treatment. Hence, Laurens said that it would be difficult to see him like in the old days. Additionally, the star is also in the latter stage of his career, and fans wouldn’t be surprised by Laurens’ statement.
Suarez FC Barcelona days were insane. The Uruguayan star scored 195 goals in 283 games for FC Barcelona. Moreover, he won five La Liga titles, one UEFA Champions League, and one FIFA Club World Cup, amongst many other trophies. Individually, Suarez won the Pichichi Trophy over Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi by scoring 40 goals in the 2015-16 season. However, the player will give it another shot with his old teammates.
