Al Nassr went all out in the transfer market this season, signing some of the biggest names in European soccer alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad. Meanwhile, the Saudi side’s ability to execute their plans was contingent on receiving the necessary funding. However, the club was undeterred by their financial challenges and remained interested in signing a $64,770,000 rated sensational winger to improve their roaster.

Al Alami brought in some stunning talents to the squad, despite facing stiff competition from their rivals in the transfer market this season. Even though CR7 and his side were disappointed with the resources allotted by the Saudi Investment Fund compared to the other three clubs in their vicinity. In the meantime, reports claim that the Middle East club was still looking to sign a 26-year-old winger from Barcelona before the transfer window shuts down.

What’s Al Nassr’s next move in the transfer market?

The Knights of Najd eyed Barcelona left winger Raphinha in the summer to strengthen their attack and gain a competitive edge in the league. Italian journalist, Gianluigi Longari, claimed that Al Nassr made their initial contact with the Brazilian international to discuss the possibility of the transfer. Although no former offer had been made by the Saudi side, the developments were imminent as per reports.

Al Nassr had previously negotiated to sign Raphinha in the summer, but the negotiations eventually fell through. However, Al Alami was looking to re-establish contact with the La LIGA champions before the transfer window came to an end. In the meantime, the biggest concern was the lack of funding, which led to the compromise of many transfer targets for the Arab Club champions this season.

The Saudi Public Investment Fund allots its resources to four clubs including Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Hilal, and Al Ahli. Al Nassr budget allocation increased from $66 million to $98 million though it was not enough to meet the club’s needs for the season. Meanwhile, the three other clubs under PIF allotted $130 million, which had a glaring difference with Al Alami.

The polarizing committee dealt a major blow to the Knights of Najd when they announced that they would allot no further funds, despite their concerns. Despite the budget constraints. Al Nassr had signed some established stars this season like Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Seko Fofana, and Alex Telles. They are likely to raid more talents before the transfer deadline approaches.
