Be it on-field or off-field rankings; Cristiano Ronaldo has always come on top in almost all the metrics. Off the field, we know him mostly for being the most desirable man, thanks to his single-digit body fat levels and chiseled looks. The 5 time Ballon d’Or winner over the years has never shied away from showing off his looks. His 600 million Instagram followers are a testament to that. However, based on a recent study, the ex-Juventus player isn’t the sexiest footballer anymore.

As per the latest reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has been dethroned as the sexiest footballer alive. In fact, the new number 1 is his former Real Madrid teammate who got earmarked by Ronaldo himself as his successor. However, what irked fans was the distance between the 1st and 2nd-ranked CR7.

Recently, Badge Clinic conducted a scientific data study to determine the sexiest footballers. In order to determine their listing, the Clinic used the data from a popular picture-sharing platform called Pinterest. They used the number of pins that each footballer’s photos received to determine their top 10 list.

While many expected Cristiano Ronaldo to reign first thanks to his massive online presence; the ex-Real Madrid icon placed 2nd in the list with 364,476 pins. The first place was bagged by PSG’s latest signing Marco Asensio 903,364 pins; which is roughly 500,000 more pins than Ronaldo’s. This is an incredible feat for the ex-Real Madrid talent, as he has only 15 million Instagram followers to his name.

While CR7 will obviously be upset with this ranking; one cannot forget that it was Ronaldo himself who once touted Asensio to be his successor.

“A very good question. I see some with great potential: Asensio, Mbappe, Neymar, Dembele, Hazard, Rashford, and some others. In the next generation there are at least 10 players with very, very great potential,” Ronaldo said via The Daily Mail. Credit must go to Ronaldo for having a keen eye for talent.
