Notably, the LA Galaxy icon expressed a calming sentiment about this mansion and valued it during his Netflix docuseries. Beckham said, “I wanted a place where we could escape. As soon as I get into the countryside, I normally get into my country get-up, which I’m not in now. I’ve got a stick. I walk around, and sit out here with a cup of coffee.”
The United Legend requested to convert the extended barn in their garden into three distinct office spaces. Beckham’s plan for the additional work also included a greenhouse and a kitchen garden on the property. According to reports, the local council has officially granted the planning for the countryside retreat. Meanwhile, the PSG legend has three years to begin the project on this estate. Beckham also sought permission for a bathroom, new skylights, and an external staircase to access this workspace.
Meanwhile, the approval for the new project left the residents furious, following the disputes over the property in recent years. When wanting to construct a new road from his property, Beckham triggered the local community as they started complaining.
People complained that this road to the Cotswold property was allegedly in progress before the council approved the British veteran’s application. One of them remarked in a letter, “I am always amazed at those who come to live in the countryside and then want to bring in suburbia. They are not content to live in a natural country environment”.
