The Portland Thorns players also bid farewell to the ex-Olympique star following the game. The veteran forward netted 47 goals in 102 appearances for OL Reign. Currently, they stand fifth in the league. However, the Olympic medalist was poised for her last domestic and international fixture after 17 years on one of the grandest stages of soccer.

Megan Rapinoe announced her retirement by the conclusion of the 2023 NSWL season. Following the revelation, OL Reign’s veteran was set to end her club career on October 6 against Washington Spirit.
