However, in an interesting turn of events, the Portuguese superstar managed to steal the spectatorship from a popular show during their recent victory.
In these two matches against Slovakia and Luxembourg, Portugal managed to net 10 goals, although neither of them had the contribution of Ronaldo. The former European champions put on a good show with promising young talents.

It was a narrow victory for Portugal against Slovakia. Despite playing for the whole 90 minutes, Ronaldo didn’t score. But surprisingly, CR7 managed to get the limelight anyway. Apparently, the skipper’s presence at Slovakia’s Tehelné Pole stadium led him to steal the audience of a TV show.
This comes from the mouth of a popular Slovakian presenter, Adela Vincze. She claimed that Ronaldo stole her show’s audience, called “A Little Different with Adela.“ Adela posted a story on Instagram and wrote, “On Friday, this gentleman (Ronaldo) stole a few spectators from us. So go to the archives, it’s a very successful part.”
Adela encouraged her audience to tune in to her program featuring Slovakian actress Tatiana Drexler. However, her show aired at 21:55 on RTVS, coinciding with the peak viewership for football enthusiasts, who were engrossed watching Ronaldo. As the game ended, so did Adela’s show. Eventually, it prompted her to kindly request her fans to consider watching that particular episode later from the show’s archive.

Perhaps fans didn’t bother snubbing Adela in favor of watching CR7 in action. Indeed, this incident is a testament to Ronaldo’s fan following around the globe. even after he didn’t score, the striker was being watched by thousands. Subsequently, fans missed him in today’s match against Luxembourg, but even without his presence, they won by a massive margin.

Portugal rallied for a huge victory despite Ronaldo’s absence
Ronaldo’s absence from the match was a result of his suspension following a yellow card he received during the game against Slovakia. The referee penalized the Portuguese captain for a strong tackle on the Slovakian goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka. Although this suspension prevented him from participating in today’s match against his favorite opponent, it did not discourage his teammates from delivering an exceptional performance.
Portugal secured a historic 9-0 win against Luxembourg, marking their largest-ever victory. Goncalo Inacio and Goncalo Ramos both scored twice in the first half. In the second half, Diogo Jota also netted a brace, and Bruno Fernandez also found the back of the net after providing three crucial assists. In the final minutes, substitute Joao Felix contributed to the 9-0 scoreline. Undoubtedly, it was a resounding victory for A Seleção das Quinas.
