Julian Alvarez had an amazing last season along with Haaland. The 23-year-old Argentine won the World Cup with Argentina while also bagging the treble with Manchester City. Showing huge potential in his debut season, he has now taken up the position of an injured Kevin De Bruyne. A few blips on the field from Guardiola’s men have garnered some critique citing partnership problems, especially between Alvarez and Haaland.

As per Manchester Evening News, Alvarez addressed those comments by quoting, “There has been a lot of speculation about if we can play together or not. We have shown this season that we can do it. In fact, the previous season, too. Whenever we have played together, we have scored goals and contributed with assists between us. I am happy for what he has achieved.”

This season too, Alvarez has had a great start to the Premier League as he’s scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists in 10 matches. The Cityzens currently stand 3rd in the table with 24 points, two short of league leaders, Tottenham Hotspur. With challenging matches coming up for the club, it will exciting to see how the partnership further unfolds. However, the criticism continues to pour in for Haaland.
