Cristiano Ronaldo is in spectacular form this season. His recent two-goal heroics secured a crucial win for the Riyadh-based team against Al Duhail in the AFC Champions League. But despite Ronaldo’s brilliance, the mood in Al Nassr’s camp is far from celebratory. Their head coach, Luis Castro, was reportedly fuming with anger and scolding some players for not putting in enough effort.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo and Co. continue to rally for the top spot on the table, as they prepare for tomorrow’s Roshn Saudi League game against Al Fayha. Additionally, their next rivals also rejected Al Nassr’s request to delay the matchup, amid El Classico.

On Tuesday, Al Nassr faced Al Duhail in an exciting seven-goal thriller and the Saudi side came on top, beating the Qatari side 4-3. While goals from Anderson Talisca and Sadio Mane gave the Riyadh side an advantage, Cristiano Ronaldo’s spectacular brace was able to block Al Duhail’s three-goal comeback.

The win kept them at the top of the table with a perfect record of nine points. Yet, Luis Castro wasn’t happy with his team’s performance against the visitors. In fact, as per reports, the Portuguese tactician expressed his displeasure with certain players for their lack of effort during the match against Al Duhail. He cautioned them that this incident should serve as a valuable lesson and emphasized that such laziness should not occur again in the future.

It seems Castro isn’t happy even after his side managed to win the game. Certainly, he demands perfection from his players and wants them to give 100% on the pitch. Nevertheless, let’s hope that the players under scrutiny have learned their lesson and will perform better in the future, perhaps in their next fixture against Al Fayha. Speaking of which, Ronaldo will be looking for redemption against his next opponents.

Cristiano Ronaldo eyeing redemption against Al Fayha

In their previous meeting, Al Nassr had a challenging time securing a win against Al Fayha. The Saudi club resorted to time-wasting tactics. This clearly frustrated Ronaldo. In response to these tactics, the Portuguese superstar confronted Al Fayha’s Ali Al-Zaqaan, bluntly stating, “You don’t want to play.”

In the end, neither side managed to score in that eventful match. After the final whistle, Ronaldo bluntly departed, heading directly for the tunnel and avoiding the customary post-match handshakes. Hence, this lingering memory would have likely fueled Ronaldo’s desire for redemption. Certainly, in the forthcoming fixture, CR7 and Al Nassr will be determined to settle the score and secure victory.
