During the last phase of his second Manchester United stint, Cristiano Ronaldo invited controversy by refusing to come on as a substitute in the 89th minute in a losing game against Tottenham Hotspur. The Portuguese star stormed down the tunnel instead, before the game was over. Rooney was quick to call this out, and warned Ronaldo to not be an ‘unwanted distraction.’ Subsequently, in his interview with Piers Morgan, the 5x-Ballon d’Or winner went all guns blazing at his ex-teammate, saying the latter was jealous of his longevity and good looks.
