After shockingly breaking up with Gerard Pique, Shakira had no intention to continue living in Spain. However, the legalities took a few months to complete. One of the main issues to settle on was the separation agreement. That piece of paper would determine Pique’s future with his children. The Colombian singer was ready to move to her Miami Beach house in January itself.

However, the singer’s father had a massive health scare. Her father, William Mebarak is still suffering from head trauma from the fall he had in 2022.

The Latin American singer and her family were waiting for a verdict from the doctors. As soon as the opportunity arose, Shakira packed her bags and moved out of Spain with her children.

Did Shakira leave Spain because of her father’s health?

William Mebarak has always needed constant medical attention. The initial plan was to get the surgery done which would help him recover much faster. However, the surgery never ended up happening. As per Hola, last week, the doctors informed the singer that they would not be able to operate on William Mebarak. The hospital lacked the necessary means for the surgery.

At that time, Shakira proposed an idea. She suggested that there are many hospitals and leading medical centers in the US. They will seemingly be much more technologically advanced to carry out the surgery. The Waka–Waka singer’s parents will also fly very soon to the US. The 46-year-old is reportedly more than happy to keep her parents at her beach house in Miami.

Shakira has always been close to her family. Last year, when her father had the tragic fall, she posted a heartwarming message for her father on social media. Even though the Latin American singer has moved to America, the health condition of the Mebarak family is still quite shaky.

Her mother recently suffered a major health scare due to a blood clot.

A few weeks ago, Shakira’s mother was at the hospital doing a few medical tests. The doctors then suddenly discovered she had a severe blood clot in her leg, as per El Heraldo. She was suffering from thrombosis, a condition that upsets the normal blood flow to a part of the body. After spending a few hours at the hospital, Nidia del Carmen Ripoli’s condition was much better.

Shakira is setting an example for everyone out there. Despite earning global success and tons of money especially from her recent diss tracks, the Colombian star still cares for her parents. Even at this stature, the Waka–Waka singer is still a ‘family’ person. Along with her kids, she is planning to take everyone to her beach house in Miami, including her parents and her brother Tonino too.
