The transfer windows in soccer are no less than a roll of the dice. They are filled with unpredictable moves, surprising deals, and outcomes that can go in any direction. The latest from the rumor mill may even make you stop breathing for a moment, as it has been reported that Neymar Jr. could be replaced by none other than Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo. But before the soccer world could even begin discussing this fresh development, CR7’s sister, Katia Aveiro, already dubbed it ‘nonsense.’
It all begins with a unique transfer post shared on Instagram by Brazilian media outlet Esportes. Sharing a collage of Neymar and Ronaldo, it had a bold headline in the Brazilian language saying, “With an open future, Neymar can be replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Hilal.” Of course, such a headline deserves to create a major buzz in the soccer world, with the post even ending up on Katia Aveiro’s Instagram feed.
While most of the comments had various talking points, it was a bold and vocal reply from Ronaldo’s elder sister that stood out the most. Expressing her discontent with the news outlet over the rumor, she commented in Portuguese which translates to, “You only write nonsense, man? You clearly don’t know anything about soccer. You could have called me and I’d have taught you about club rivalries over there and what that might be. Delete it buddy, there’s still time.”

More than anger, we are rather sensing a playful dig from Aveiro on the news outlet that shared such a bizarre transfer rumor. Anyway, her response couldn’t have been more classy and on-point than this, making it obvious that this transfer gossip is false.
Just imagine yourself for a moment; why two of the biggest clubs in the Saudi Pro League would be okay with giving up one of their crucial chess pieces? Not to mention both Al Nassr and Al Hilala are no less than derby rivals. It’s almost like we hear that when Cristiano Ronaldo was leaving Real Madrid in 2018, Los Blancos would be signing Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona. Unrealistic at its peak!

Regardless of how she handled it, it was quite commendable of Aveiro to dismiss such a transfer rumor. While it makes it clear that Al Nassr won’t be losing Cristiano Ronaldo, what is evident is that Al Hilal might be on the verge of parting ways with Neymar!

While Cristiano Ronaldo move deemed rubbish, Neymar on the edge with Al Hilal
On October 21, Neymar Jr. made his highly anticipated return to Al Hilal after a year-long injury layoff, coming on for a brief appearance during his team’s 4-5 victory over Al Ain in the AFC Champions League. Then, on November 4, the Brazilian superstar started the game but suffered a knock within the first half-hour during their recent AFC Champions League match against Esteghlal. Unfortunately, Neymar now faces another potential injury scare, putting him at risk of having his contract terminated as early as January.

In Al Hilal’s defense, their patience has been wearing thin. Since his return, the former Barcelona star has played only 42 minutes, all in the AFC Champions League, after being deregistered for this season, which excluded him from the Saudi Pro League and King’s Cup due to his lengthy absence. Both Neymar and the club were awaiting January 2025 to update the registration list. It remains to be seen what decision Al Hilal will make regarding Neymar.
