A few nights ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was under scrutiny for the construction of his latest Pestana CR7 hotel in Portugal. The objection to the construction was raised by environmentalists who believed that CR7’s hotel was violating the sea’s space for natural progression. Cut to a few days later, one of the hotels from his chain of luxury lodgings is now giving refuge to Moroccans sleeping on the street. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the Marrakech area, which is home to many luxury hotels including CR7’s as well.
Hence when the people their lost their homes, CR7’s hotel opened its doors for the refugees to settle in. “Now we have managed to get Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel, which is on the outskirts, to give us a room,” said Irene Seixas, a Spanish national, to channel 24h [via Marca]. “We are waiting. We have slept all night on the street and at seven in the morning they told us that yes, we could approach,” informed the refugee to the press.
