A warrior in his own way, Kylian Mbappe shows why he is the best soccer star in the world currently. The French player already proved last year that he is mentally a strong person after he came and took PSG to another Ligue Un title despite an earlier glitch with the team. This time, the star displayed a winning mentality for his national team after suffering a nasty injury against Austria in the first game of the Euro. With his nose fractured, the star was expected to wear a France flag-themed mask to protect the wounded area once he returned to the pitch. However, it now looks like that may not be possible, and here’s the reason why.
Further in the tournament, it is reported that Kylian Mbappe may not wear the tricolored mask because of UEFA’s existing rules. The regulating body mentions that “Medical equipment (e.g. head protection, face-masks, casts, kneepads or knee braces, elbow pads): Medical equipment worn on the field of play must be a single color and free of team and manufacturer identification,” allowing only uniform colored equipment on the field. This could protect against additional distractions and endorsements during the game.
Notably, Mbappe bulged into Austrian player Kevin Danso’s shoulder, leaving his nose bleeding in the 85th minute. The 25-year-old was seen wearing the tricolored mask during the training but will wear one that will comply with UEFA’s rules. The French Football Federation has already kept multiple uniform-colored masks ready to get him back on to the pitch.

Is Kylian Mbappe expected to play against the Netherlands?
Kylian Mbappe was replaced by Olivier Giroud but is expected to return, according to reports. The French coach Didier Deschamps recently stated, “We’ll do all we can to ensure that he’ll be available tomorrow,” claiming that Mbappe’s condition has improved. Nevertheless, according to the manager, the winger is not performing heavy exercises and is involved in light training.
