Recently Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham faced off against Sheffield United in the fourth round of the FA Cup. After the 3-3 draw in the match, Reynolds sat in an interview with BBC, talking about how much his journey with Wrexham has meant to him.

“Genuinely speaking, it has been the greatest experience of my entire life,” Reynolds said. “This adventure has been unlike anything else. I love it because it’s a project that’s going to be multi-decades,” Reynolds then emphasized the importance of this place with a personal anecdote.

“I met someone whose grandfather had his ashes scattered across the pitch,” he said. “To me, this is like a church.” For Reynolds, the opportunity to be a part of something for the long haul is what makes Wrexham so special. In addition, their FA Cup campaign has been nothing short of remarkable. Out of 732 teams in the competition, Wrexham made it to the final 32 as the lowest-ranked squad left standing. Although they narrowly missed making it through to the final 16 when a late Sheffield United goal leveled play in the fourth-round match-up.
