Wrexham is the current league leader in the National League, tied on 65 points with Notts County. However, they have played one game less than the County, and a win will ensure a three-point lead at the top. They will hope to continue the same form in the FA Cup replay, knowing who they will face in the fifth round if they win.

Wrexham AFC could face Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup

The draw for the Emirates FA Cup took place on Monday. Former Tottenham soccer star Jermaine Jenas and ex-Arsenal star Alex Scott made the draw. Wrexham AFC will potentially play against the Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur if they beat Sheffield United on Wednesday.

The winning teams in the fifth round will get $227,687 as prize money. Wrexham will look forward to continuing their inspired performances and going past United. Wrexham was brilliant on Sunday night and all set to get the result, only to concede the 95th-minute equalizer.

United took 2nd minute lead with Oli McBurnie’s strike. Wrexham started to get into the game in search of the equalizer but ended the first half trailing 1-0. However, they soon got back to scoring, and James Jones (61′) and Thomas O’Connor (61′) strikes gave them the lead. The lead lasted only four minutes, with Oliver Norwood scoring in the 65th minute.

United soon went down to 10 men after Daniel Jebbison received his marching orders. Wrexham’s star striker, Paul Mullin, restored the lead with four minutes to go. They were very close to qualification, but United dashed their hopes with a late equalizer in the fifth minute of injury time. Teams will again clash on Wednesday next week in the replay.
