The college sports picture in the USA is a testament to the hard work they embrace. Year after year, new talent comes out, and this is a testament to their sports programs. Therefore, two Pacific Tigers women’s soccer players received professional contracts to play in Europe.
The two 22-year-olds, Abigail Wolf and Jenae Packard, signed agreements to take their soccer skills to Europe. Hence, it became a proud moment for everyone involved. While the NWSL league starts soon, it’s surprising the players opted to sign up for European competition instead of staying in their homeland.

Packard will play with Fortuna Hjorring in Denmark, while Wolf will play for Klepp Elite in Norway. Considering Europe’s illustrious talent pool, these players would hope to make their mark on their respective teams. A proud moment for everyone involved with the university.
University players sign contracts with European clubs instead of NWSL clubs
Co-Head coach, Danesha Adams, opened up on the commitment of these two players who rose through the ranks to earn contracts. She opened up about how they toiled for three years to reach this stage. Taking the first player, Packard, she joins an illustrious club from Denmark.
Significantly, Fortuna Hjorring made the Union of European Football Association Women’s Champions League 14 times. They also captured a silver medal in the 2002-03 competition.
Delighted to sign a contract, Packard could not contain her excitement. According to the University of Pacific, Packard said, “I am excited to develop as a player at the next level and gain new experiences on and off the field.” She also thanked her family and friends in the Pacific for helping her achieve her dreams.
As for Wolf, the right-back will play in one of the top teams in Europe. “I look forward to experiencing a new country and soccer environment. I appreciate my team and Pacific coaches for helping prepare me for this amazing opportunity,” said an excited Wolf.

The duo has hit the ground running after Georgian side Tormenta FC won the USL W League Championship in its debut season with their help. New NWSL season commences soon as the players are selected to play in Europe. The league’s on the rise as 12 teams will compete in the season.

Moreover, the competition starts on 25th March, and the final of the NWSL Championship will be held on the 11th of November. The clubs will play around 176 games in the league and the Challenge Cup. Hence, players are ready to go out and showcase their talents. Who do you think will win this time around?
