Manchester United will be hoping to break their drought of silverware this season. While the team has been decent for a while now, the arrival of manager Erik ten Hag has changed how the team’s defense works. The addition of a number 9 to the team could help United find the goal-scoring prowess the team lacked last season.
With the Red Devils a part of the UEFA Champions League this season. Erik ten Hag wanted to add more strength to his team with the signings of Andre Onana for $40m and Rasmus Hojlund for $82m this season. However, the team might have to start things out without their new number 9.

While Rasmus Hojlund seems eager to make a mark for Manchester United, the player will have to wait a while before making his official duty. According to Daily Mail, MRI scans revealed that Hojlund has been suffering from back pain troubles for a while now and any additional stress could worsen the situation.
It seems like Manchester United wants to take no chance when it comes to their new number 9. United is willing to take it slow for Hojlund to recover. The side has already issued a statement on Hojlund’s condition and believes even it might take them weeks or months. However, as of now, the team’s main priority is to keep Rasmus Hojlund fresh.
Similar to Rasmus Hojlund, club star Marcus Rashford had suffered through the same issue before suffering a back stress fracture. Erik ten Hag and his management believe the player is not close to that stage and keeping him fresh can help avoid a possible injury.
