Rob and Ryan made an unconventional choice—they joined the women’s bus, forgoing the men’s. This seemingly trivial decision held remarkable significance for the women’s team. It nurtured a stronger sense of care and camaraderie among them. In a recent interview with Leader Live, Amber Lightfoot, the team’s star striker, highlighted this specific incident, underscoring its enduring influence.

“Their support is massive. The fact they came on the women’s bus instead of the men’s showed how much they care for the women’s side and how much they want us to get the recognition,” said Amber Lightfoot. “It is them, they’re the driving force behind making the women’s team so strong and they’ve had a massive impact on it. I only just joined when they took over the club and since then it’s gone from 0 to 100,” proudly shared Amber.

Interestingly, these comments have come soon after Natalie Portman praised Reynolds for his work with Wrexham and challenged Red Dragons’ women’s team for a friendly match.

Natalie Portman proposes Angel City FC versus Wrexham Women

Apart from Ryan Reynolds; Natalie Portman is one of the other actors turned investor who has done impactful work after buying a soccer team. Portman and her co-founders built up Angel City to resume women’s soccer culture in the Los Angeles area which has been dead for the last 10 years. While starting, she took inspiration from Ryan Reynolds’ work and admitted this in a recent interview.

“I was lucky enough to speak to Ryan about his foray, it’s very inspiring what he’s done with Wrexham; they’ve got a women’s team as well,” she told Entertainment Tonight. She ended her chat by teasing a friendly match between the duo’s team exciting the fans. “We’ve talked about having some friendly matches at some point,” teasing revealed the Thor star.
