The stunning pre-season friendly match between Arsenal and Manchester United saw the Red Devils win 2-0 in a stadium packed with more than 82000 fans. Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes got on the scoresheet and entertained the soccer fans. Moreover, many celebrities, including the famous actress Julia Roberts, appeared in the stadium. She loves soccer and often turned out at Old Trafford to watch United play. 

She clicked pictures with the United players recently during their USA tour. The club’s official Twitter handle posted pictures of Roberts with various players in the squad. It became a heartwarming moment to see her embrace the players and support her favorite team.

The club’s site posted pictures of Julia with manager Erik Ten Hag, forward Marcus Rashford, and defensive midfielder, Casemiro. In one picture, Ten Hag gifts Roberts a personalized United jersey with the number 1 written on the back. The club’s official Twitter page stated, “So good to see Julia Roberts once again following Saturday’s game!.” It became a moment to remember for the “Pretty Woman” actress, who looked visibly excited. 

While on the field, United had a tough encounter with last year’s English Premier League runners-up, Arsenal. After spending millions on various players, the Gunners failed short of expectations as the Red Devils controlled the match beautifully. They had support from all sections of the stadium, with around 82,262 people attending the match. It became the highest-watched soccer match in New Jersey. Hence, fans loved the patterns of play showcased by United and created an atmosphere to remember.

However, when most fans argue for the battle for supremacy, Roberts went the other way around. She congratulated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after winning the treble. Well, if Julia does it, then why can’t we?

After the victory against Inter Milan, the club won their first-ever treble. Thus, Julia took to Instagram to share a picture of Pep kissing the coveted Champions League trophy. She captioned, “Congratulations @pepteam ⚽️🏆 for leading your team to be UCL champions. #pep #soccermom.” Surely a sweet moment for the legendary actress. 

Heading to the 2023/24 season, United would hope to perform well for their next campaign. A club that dominated English football for a long time fell off the ladder in recent years.
