In fact, Shakira’s famous track is on the verge of breaking the record of Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’. The song was released in 2013 and has since then garnered 3.85 billion views. Hence, with the Waka Waka has a mere difference of just 15 million views.

Notably, both of these tracks are the most-viewed female singer’s music videos of all time on YouTube. Consequently, if Shakira’s Waka Waka manages to get an extra 15 million views then her track will take over Katy Perry’s song. Indeed, it would be a historic achievement for the Columbian pop star.

Additionally, this is the song that is also responsible for Shakira’s first meeting with Pique.
