Days After $438 Million Sports History’s Richest Offer, Al Hilal Coach Fires a 4-Word Response to Signing Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi has been making rounds recently. His two-week suspension by PSG for an unauthorized Saudi Arabia trip has put his future at the club in serious doubt. The Argentine’s contract ends this June, and his future looks away from the Parisians. Amid a massive offer from the Saudi Arabian club, the club’s manager has given an update.

The World Cup winner has been subject to criticism from the PSG fans. His performances in crucial games have been under scrutiny, especially those against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. With FC Barcelona also in contention, Al Hilal has made an enormous offer for the Argentine.

Al Hilal played against Urawa Reds in the AFC Champions League final recently. They lost 1-0 in the second leg, and Reds won 2-1 on aggregate. After a disappointing loss in the finals, reporters asked Al Hilal manager Ramon Diaz about the offer made by the club to Lionel Messi and whether the PSG superstar will join the club. 

Diaz gave a four-word response and didn’t give more details about Messi’s signing. Amid the $438 million offer, Diaz said, “We’ll see what happens.” Diaz will have his focus shifted to the King Cup of Champions final this weekend. Al Hilal will take on Al Wehda in the decisive game. Hilal is currently fourth in the Saudi Pro League table and will look forward to finishing the campaign on high.

Lionel Messi was on a Saudi Arabia tour recently. His trip made news for two different reasons. PSG suspended the Argentine for two weeks for traveling to Riyadh without permission. Meanwhile, one of his videos from Saudi Arabia raised the eyebrows of the fans, especially the Barcelona fans.

The new tattoo of Lionel Messi was visible in the video. The tattoo included the number 10, the Argentine shield, and the Barcelona shield. Messi planned the tattoo and recently added the Barcelona shield. Whether Barcelona can sign Messi remains to be seen.
