Lionel Messi at Inter Miami set a new record last weekend. While becoming the soccer player with the most ever trophies, he won his first of hopefully many trophies in America. After winning the Leagues Cup with David Beckham‘s soccer club, Messi and his old Barcelona pals at Inter Miami decided to perform a special gesture for a youngster in the team. The fans were quick to notice it and it has gone viral ever since.
It has taken Messi only seven games to win his first piece of silverware. The Leagues Cup final against Nashville turned out to be an absolute nail-biter. Currently, one can only imagine the impact he will have on the team after an entire season. The aura of the GOAT seems to have improved others around him and in particular, one 19-year-old star.

Since the Argentine soccer legend’s arrival, David Ruiz has been in good form. In fact, he also scored a goal recently. In the Leagues Cup semifinal against Philadelphia, the Honduran midfielder scored the fourth and final goal for Inter Miami. He has turned out to be one of the few players who has majorly benefitted from the arrival of the 2022 World Cup winner. From the looks of it, Messi is quite impressed with him!
That’s because the soccer veteran and his pals seemingly decided to give the youngster a surprise. Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets followed the youngster’s official Instagram handle. Despite having a fanbase across the globe, the Argentine soccer legend only follows three hundred people in comparison to the 483 million individuals that follow him.

Lionel Messi continued his scoring streak in the Leagues Cup final too. His shots have hit the back of the net for seven games in a row. In the final, the Argentine soccer legend maneuvered his way outside the box and whipped the ball into the top corner. But there was no goal for either side for a lot of time after that. Miami’s Drake Callender accidentally scored an own goal in the 57th minute wiping out his own team’s lead on the scoresheet.

Leandro Campana had the chance to snatch victory on the counterattack in stoppage time. But he was millimeters away from glory. The game then proceeded to penalties. Both sides missed a penalty each which forced the shootout to sudden death. It came down to both goalkeepers and Callender was surely not making any mistakes this time. After converting his own penalty, he managed to block Panicco’s striker making Lionel Messi and his team champions while the fanbase went wild!
