Beccari said“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director. His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.”

Despite being a musician, Williams also has credentials in design. The appointment is immediately effective, and the Happy singer will debut his collection in the Paris Fashion Week of June this year. He is replacing another visionary, Abloh, who was the first black Creative Director at Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton appointed Abloh back in 2018 and is credited for his vision and for bringing younger demographics to fashion. He was also a cross-disciplinary Creative Director. Abloh was an architect before coming to the fashion industry. Louis Vuitton has continued the trend by appointing the musician for the role.
