Last month was a tough pill to swallow for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar failed to lead his nation to the UEFA Euro 2024 glory and became a focal point of criticism, forcing him to go on a much-needed holiday getaway with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, and their five adorable kids. However, with the new domestic season just around the corner, questions are being raised about when will Ronaldo return from his break and reunite with Al Nassr. Luckily, Luis Castro has an answer.
The Knights of the Najd are eager to start preparations for the 2024/25 campaign as quickly as possible, with the former Porto boss hoping to have the full team with him. This makes the presence of CR7 quite important. Well, as per the reports from @MousaQi and as compiled by @TheNassrZone, Castro himself revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will join the Al Nassr camp at the beginning of August.
This means that by next week, we can see the 39-year-old start preparing for the new campaign. Though many expected him to take a few more days of break given that the Saudi Pro League season is beginning on August 22, his return timing is perfect. Notably, Castro’s side is bound to play the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al Taawoun on August 14th. Not to mention that they are already partaking in friendly matches, having endured a narrow defeat recently against Portimonense FC.

Perhaps the presence of Ronaldo will help the Al Nassr boss plan things accordingly for the new season. Moreover, arriving early will help the Real Madrid icon identify and heal potential injuries. After all, Al Alami can’t afford to be without the presence of their star player as they look to assert their dominance.

The previous season again proved to be disastrous for both Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo. Having arrived since the end of 2022, the Portuguese legend is yet to win a crucial trophy with the Saudi Arabian side, with only Arab Club Cup of Champions being the only silverware so far. He doesn’t get the sole blame as despite signing big names like Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Otavio, Alex Telles, and Marcelo Brozovic, 2023/24 remained a trophyless season for Castro and Co.

Notably, Portugal’s Euro journey ended on July 6, having lost to France in the quarterfinals. Since then, Ronaldo hasn’t seen action, which concludes the fact that he got almost a month of rest. Now, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner shall lace up and start focusing on the upcoming season. Using the recent European disappointment as fuel to lead his side to glory is one great advantage for him. But one thing is certain; the 2024/25 campaign is a make-or-break year for Ronaldo.
