The ‘Kim Kardashian Curse,’ plagued several athletes and soccer teams in the past. However, Messi’s divine touch wasn’t susceptible to it. And he broke the spell garnering praise from the fans worldwide. 

What’s the ‘Kim Kardashian Curse’ in soccer?

It all started with Kim Kardashian attending a few games across leagues this year. And the result usually went in favor of the opposite teams she supported. In March, Kardashian was in attendance for two games. First, she attended a second-leg tie between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon in Europa League last 16. Kardashian wore an Arsenal jersey, and Arsenal lost on penalties.

But what’s the big deal? Arsenal also lost the lead at the top, and Manchester City won the Premier League. Three days after Arsenal’s Europa League tie, fans spotted Kim in Paris for the Ligue1 game between PSG and Rennes. She was, of course, supporting the Parisians. And the result was a 2-0 loss to PSG. The latest victim was the Italian club AS Roma. Although she didn’t attend the game, fans connected the dots by resurfacing her vintage Roma jersey post during the club’s Europa final loss. Kim Kardashian was in attendance for Messi’s debut, and all eyes were on Inter Miami and seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Lionel Messi breaks the spell leaving fans stunned

In the much-anticipated Messi debut game, celebs, including Kim Kardashian, were present at the DRV PNK Stadium. Messi started on the bench. It seemed the game was heading for a draw, but Messi had other plans. His stunning freekick in the additional time after coming on as a second-half substitute won the game for the Herons.

With this, fans were all over the internet after brutally trolling Kim Kardashian as Messi broke the Kardashian Curse. One fan wrote, “Curses can only be broken by GODS.” And soon others followed suit. Social media was full of praise for the Argentine after one Twitter handle posted, “Messi broke the Kardashian Curse.”

Meanwhile, some fans brought up a few other curses in soccer, like Drake and United Trey, by mentioning Messi breaking all unwanted spells in soccer.

The fans kept praising the World Cup winner by calling him GOAT, while others wrote curses don’t work on the GOATs.
