It’s the Euro season and fans are already talking about who could end up with the coveted silverware this summer. While the likes of Spain, Germany, England, and France have been the talk of the town, Croatia has once again sailed under the radar. This is a massive surprise considering the World ranked 10th nation is amongst the best teams in the tournament.

The Red and Whites have been amazing in international tournaments with the team making it to the finals and semi-finals in the last two editions of the World Cup. Zlatko Dalić has once again picked a perfectly balanced side with the manager relying on his experienced midfielders to take him through the tournament.

Croatia has a relatively experienced squad with 13 players selected for the Euros having played in the tournament’s previous edition. Notable names that did not make the cut include Ante Rebic, Josip Brekalo, and Kristijan Lovric.

Young Stars to Watch Out for

Josko Gvardiol: The Manchester City star has taken his game to another level under Pep Guardiola. Originally a center-back, Gvardiol has improved his game by margins with the player now amongst the best full-backs in the Premier League. He can also push up in the midfield when needed, providing his team with added stability.

Josip Stanisic: The full-back was on fire for Bayer Leverkusen this season and played a big role in their unbeaten Bundesliga run. Stanisic is also great at counters and can punish opponents during corners with his accurate heading inside the box. Paired alongside Gvardiol, the defender could be an enormous threat to his opponents.

Croatia Predicted Playing XI and Key Players

Zlatko Dalić loves to play with a 4-3-3 formation, with the manager relying on his midfield to dominate possession. We could once again see the same formation during the Euros with Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, and Marcelo Brozovic bossing their opponents with accurate passing. The team also has a solid defense and can cause major damage on the counter thanks to their skillful full-backs.
