After the game against France, Ronaldo’s elder sister Elma dos Santos Aveiro complimented Mbappe on his career on Instagram. Posting the pic of him with their family, Elma wrote, “Great player, I wish you all the best ❤️🙏🇵🇹,” keeping aside all the disappointment about yesterday’s game. The photo even saw the presence of Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, sister Katia, and a few other members. However, Ronaldo, and his partner Georgina, who was at the stadium, were not to be seen in the pic.

Almost every family member of the Portuguese captain was present for the game against France yesterday, with even Georgina posting a picture from the game and giving tribute to Ronaldo’s fans. But fans turned the spotlight towards Ronaldo’s sisters who are there to support him in every walk of life.

The 51-year-old was there with her brother even during the 2022 World Cup when she criticized Fernando Santos for dropping Ronaldo against Switzerland in the round of 16. She also stood by the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner when he was having a tough time at Manchester United. However, this time the sister showered praise on the rival as Mbappe too showed his reverence for his counterpart.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo is in the latter stages of his career, Mbappe feels privileged to play against the highest goalscorer in the world. Before the quarterfinal, he stated, “It’s an honour. It’s the admiration I’ve always had for Cristiano, for the player. Over time, I’ve had the chance to get to know him and talk to him many times. We’re still in touch. He’s always trying to give me advice and keep up to date with what’s going on,” suggesting his long connection with the Portuguese captain.
