Cristiano Ronaldo made a brilliant move to Al Nassr, and he’s already enjoying his life at his new club. The Portuguese skipper is now earning $200 million per year, whose contract got terminated by Manchester United back in November.

The striker was without a club for a month and endured a bitter World Cup with his national side. However, Ronaldo later announced shocking news, thus signing a mouth-watering contract with the Middle-East club.

Jorge Mendes was one of Ronaldo’s best entourages and is also one of the greatest agents of all time. Both were together for almost two decades. He was the man who engineered the 37-year-old’s move to Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003.

He also caters to some of the biggest stars in soccer. Besides representing most of the Portuguese players, his agency also represents the likes of Di Maria, Ansu Fati, and James Rodriguez.

Mendes also represents coaches, including Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Bruno Lage, and Gennaro Gattuso. But Ronaldo was one of his biggest clients of all.

Since then, the agent has given his career a major boost after getting him signed by the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus. However, their relationship started getting worse after tensions grew among the pair.

The reason for their breakup

The reason for Ronaldo’s breakup with the Mendes goes back to his days in Turin, where the player begins to have problems since then. Reports suggest that Ronaldo didn’t take Jorge’s advice, as he later wished to leave the PL giants in July. Moreover, he even warned the five-time Ballon d’Or winner not to kick down the ladder during a jaw-dropping interview he gave with Piers Morgan.

Furthermore, Ronaldo was upset with Mendes as he couldn’t deliver his desired clubs, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. The Bavarians may have rejected the idea instantly. However, the Blues, on the other hand, had talked to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

However, no deal took place between either of the clubs. Hence, instigating the former Madrid man to part ways with the super agent. Nevertheless, Ronaldo got his lucrative move to Al Nassr, which was actually orchestrated by his close friend Ricardo Regufe.
