Cristiano Ronaldo continued his goal-scoring form as Al Nassr ended the year with a brilliant 4-1 win against Al Taawoun. They stayed in contention for the title alongside Al Hilal this season as well. However, the team got in trouble for their actions before the second half started. As a result, they penalized the Knights of Najd with a hefty fine.

The Knights of Najd hope they do not get in trouble for their pre-match actions this season and in the future. Because making these errors again can result in even harsher consequences.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates did well to recover from the early goal they conceded in the first half. Goals from Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte meant they went into halftime with a 2-1 lead. Despite this, it appears that Al Nassr took extra time to analyze and discuss their game plan for the second half, resulting in a fine. They exceeded the allotted time for exiting their dressing room per regulations. Being late exiting the tunnel incurred a fine of 19687 riyals ($5250).

The committee has also made it clear that Al Nassr can not challenge the decision. In terms of performance in the second half, the extended pep talk worked for the team as they added another two goals. Portuguese stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Otavio scored the goals to give the team a 4-1 win at the final whistle. The Knights of Najd finished the first half of the season trailing Al Hilal by seven points after securing this victory. Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo have a history of facing consequences for their behavior, and this isn’t the first time. They have had their fair share of issues with the lawmakers.

Cristiano Ronaldo has argued with match officials multiple times!

The Al Nassr captain has been critical of the referees since he arrived in the Saudi League. While speaking about the league, he said that the officials should improve the quality of VAR. One example of frustration was the 3-0 loss in the derby against Al Hilal, as Ronaldo felt the referees took decisions against his team. He also hinted that Al Hilal had bought the referee.

The 38-year-old has also been in the spotlight for arguing with the officials when the decisions don’t go his way. He also argued with referee Anderson Daronco during the game against Al-Ahli. In the match, he protested against two penalties. But the decision did not go his way. In an interview, the referee said that they made the right decisions.
