The past few days have been tough for Cristiano Ronaldo. Just a day ago, the Portuguese superstar endured a bitter 3-0 loss alongside his Al Nassr teammates at the hands of Al Hilal. While he was in the process of recovering from the heartbreaking loss, CR7 became a laughing stock on social media when Leeds United wished ‘the real goat’ a happy birthday.

Adding to Ronaldo’s frustration, rival fans taunted him with chants of his archrival Lionel Messi. What did the Premier League side do to ruffle the feathers of the Al Nassr star.

Yesterday marked the birthday of former English soccer star David Batty. While congratulations and celebrations were in order for the ex-defensive midfielder, his former club, Leeds United, sent their wishes in a unique way. The Premier League side posted a small clip of an old match against Manchester United on their Instagram account.

In the video, Batty can be seen giving a lot of tough shoulder pushes to a young Cristiano Ronaldo. The challenges were so strong that even Ronaldo seemed to be in pain. In fact, aside from the clip, they wrote a caption saying, “The real GOAT! Happy Birthday, David Batty!” Ironically, they posted it with hashtags of Ronaldo as well.

Notably, Betty came through the ranks of Leeds and won a Premier League and two Super Cups. He also helped Blackburn win the league title and enjoyed a three-year stint at Newcastle United as well. Nevertheless, this is quite an eyebrow-raising social media mockery from Leeds. Certainly, Ronaldo would be dissatisfied, as just hours ago, he was subject to yet another mockery.

Al Hilal fans mocked Ronaldo

In a recent match between Al Nassr and Al Hilal, fans resorted to chanting “Messi, Messi” as the Portuguese striker failed to score. This is just one of several instances where Ronaldo has faced trolling from fans taking the Argentine’s name. In March, during a match against Al Ittihad, Ronaldo displayed his frustration in response to similar taunts.

Furthermore, the 38-year-old encountered another instance of taunting from Al Batin fans after a 3-1 victory. As he walked through the tunnels, a young fan directed a shout in his direction, declaring, “Messi is so much better.”
