Cristiano Ronaldo Surpasses Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe Following Two Goals in Massive Al Nassr Win in Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo completed a blockbuster move to Al Nassr FC, raising the eyebrows of many fans. It came after his Manchester United contract was terminated mutually after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. His life at Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League didn’t start well. He went goalless in earlier games before picking up his form in February this year. 

He won the February Player of the Month in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo scored eight goals and provided two assists in the league that month, keeping Al Nassr in the hunt for the title. The Portuguese superstar continued his form and, with a brace, last night. The Portuguese superstar has surpassed Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi this calendar year for more goals.

The Portuguese is back with Al Nassr after the international break. Al Nassr traveled to Al-Adalah, and they resumed the title charge in style with a thumping 5-0 win, with Ronaldo scoring a brace. Ronaldo, who surpassed his arch-rival Messi during the international break for goals scored this year, now has overtaken Mbappe, too.

Messi has ten goals so far this year in all competitions, whereas Mbappe has 13. With a brace against Al-Adalah, Ronaldo has 15 goals this season, 11 for Al Nassr and four for Portugal. He is level with the Manchester City star Erling Haaland and one behind Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

Ronaldo would hope to continue his goal-scoring form to help Al Nassr FC this season. They are a point behind their rivals Al-Ittihad in the table, with eight games to go. The winners of the league qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage, and Ronaldo would hope to help his club achieve the qualification in his first season. 

Al Nassr thumps Al-Adalah to keep pressure on Al-Ittihad

The title race is getting hotter in the Saudi Pro League. The league leaders, Al-Ittihad, welcomed Damac at their home, while Al Nassr traveled to Al-Adalah. Ittihad won the game 3-0, putting pressure on Al Nassr.

The response from Al Nassr was great, and they hit five goals past their opponents. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in the game. Brazilian forward Talisca also scored a brace in the game. Ayman Yahya scored in the 8th minute of additional time at the end of the second half to complete the route. It will be intriguing to watch how the title race pans out in the Saudi league.
