Cristiano Ronaldo is a Manchester United legend. Despite parting ways with the club on rough terms, fans still have a special place in their heart for the Portuguese. However, it seems like things might not be the same for the player. Cristiano has not shied away from speaking out against his second spell at Manchester United and it looks like this son is following his father’s footsteps.

Georgina Rodriguez took to her Instagram handle earlier tonight, posting images from quality time with their children. What caught the attention of fans was Cristiano’s son, Matteo, sporting a Manchester City kit while posing alongside his sisters for the image. Georgina had a heartwarming reaction to the photo as she captioned the story, stating, “My favorite chefs.”

Her other stories saw Georgina enjoying time alongside her daughters while working alongside each other in the gym. While Cristiano Ronaldo is known to be a gym freak, it seems like his family is no different. Meanwhile, Matte sporting the Manchester City kit could display his fondness for the club, considering his father almost signed for the club in 2021. Talk about a shock to the system! However, it isn’t the first time Matteo has been seen wearing a rival club kit with the youngster seen donning Barcelona’s colors on multiple occasions.

Cristiano Ronaldo would have signed for Manchester City if not for Sir Alex Ferguson

The Portuguese superstar will always be linked to the red part of Manchester. Cristiano is a legend amongst the Manchester United fans, with many arguably considering him to be the greatest player in the club’s history. However, it could have all been in vain back in 2021, with Cristiano all set to secure a move to local rivals Manchester City back in 2021. After Sergio Aguero’s departure, Pep Guardiola’s side was in the hunt for a top striker.

With Ronaldo looking for a way out of Juventus, Manchester City reportedly got in touch with the player and offered him to join the club. Reports claim the deal was almost done and Cristiano was set to be unveiled in front of the City faithful if not for ex-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The former United head coach reportedly got in touch with Cristiano Ronaldo and convinced him to make a return to his former club rather than play for the rivals across the town.

His words did the job as CR7 returned to Old Trafford after a long wait of 12 years. While the player had a great first season with the club, things soured following Erik ten Hag’s arrival and we all know how things tuned out after that!
