Many can’t keep up with the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo is 38. The fitness levels of the Portuguese superstar have always kept him at the top of the game. While many reckon there is still time for the legendary player to hang up his boots, the veteran has recently given a tensioning statement regarding his future.

Following the win against Damac, Ronaldo was taken aside for a post-match interview. Interestingly, the interviewer said that everyone would want to see him for many years in Saudi Arabia. To which he replied by laughing, “Step by step. For sure, for sure. I will play this year and next year for sure, and after, if my body says, ‘Cristiano, continue,’ I will continue.”

Certainly, his words suggest that the 38-year-old will be playing until 2025 when his contract will end at Al Nassr. Following that, the striker will analyze his options and see if he can continue further. This rules out the possibility of a definite contract extension at Al Nassr. Be that as it may, his ardent fans must be sad to hear that the legendary player might stop playing after his contract runs out.

However, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo, after all. Anything is possible, and we may see him for a few more years. Ultimately, even at 38, the skipper is scoring bangers, as he recently ended his free-kick drought.

Last night, Al Nassr was 0-1 down during halftime against Damac. However, Luis Castro’s side was able to turn things around as, after Talisca’s brilliant free-kick equalizer in the 52nd minute, Ronaldo struck another sublime free-kick five minutes later. It was quite a show last night, as the opposition keeper had no chance whatsoever to save either of the free kicks. Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a free kick after a dry spell for seven long months.

Ronaldo ended his free-kick drought, as the last time he scored one of them was on March 24, 2023. It was during a match between Portugal and Liechtenstein. Nevertheless, his goal against Damac came at perfect timing, as he was able to help his side find a winner.
