China’s soccer supporters are in for a treat for the next few days. Initially, the nation with a monstrous 200 million soccer fans faced a few moments of anxiety. Talks about the possibility that Cristiano Ronaldo would not be available due to an injury scare were circulating. But after the world’s most-followed athletes made it to the tour, the nation seemed to be ecstatic and welcomed him with many presents.

Al Nassr’s mid-season practice tour of China provides Cristiano Ronaldo with a chance to release some stress related to official matches. And the supporters in the country have supported the cause by showering him with gifts. According to a recent video, Ronaldo was seen receiving a yellow box and a portrait with multiple pictures of him and his memories as a gift. On the other hand, recovering from a calf muscle injury, Ronaldo is expected to play two games against the Chinese Super League teams. The games will be against Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang Professional on the 24th and 28th of January. The tour is expected to fetch Al Nassr about $20 million. But all the focus is on the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner, as the crowds are expected to go bizarre.

Chinese fans have arranged for a supreme tribute to the star. The match against Shanghai Shenhua will see the crowds raise 40,000 banners with Ronaldo’s name and jersey number in the 7th and 52nd minutes. Additionally, 10,000 banners will be displayed in the next game against Zhejiang with chants of his name in the 7th minute.

Meanwhile, this will be the talisman’s ninth trip to China. The player’s last visit in 2019 was with the Italian giants, Juventus, at the International Champions Cup in Nanjing. Ronaldo scored a goal against Inter Milan, but the team could not win the game. However, the place doesn’t seem to have enough of the five-time UEFA Champions League winner. The star was received by huge chats after landing at the airport. Ronaldo will move back to face his archrival Lionel Messi in the Riyadh Season Cup after the trip.
