Does Cristiano Ronaldo ever stop? Save stopping, his 2023 heroics imply he has just started. At 38, in his 20th year as a pro soccer player, Ronaldo made the Erling Haalands and Kylian Mbappes of the world play second fiddle. With 54 goals to his belt, the Al Nassr captain secured last year’s top scorer award. After that, he celebrated a year with the Saudi League outfit. On CR7 completing a year, coach Luis Castro has recently evaluated his stellar run. His ‘utmost ambition‘ has amused Castro, and he admitted that the former has no plans to stop chasing glory.
After his 54th goal and Al Nassr’s win, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner stated he is going to repeat similar success in 2024. Coach Castro also thinks so, thanks to CR7’s ‘great understanding‘ of the sport.

Luis Castro told Ojogo how he evaluates Cristiano Ronaldo’s stint in Saudi Arabia. “Eager to achieve success again. I saw a player with a lot of skills and I won’t say if he is better or worse than he was in the past. There is a lot of ambition inside him, and this is normal in his daily life. Cristiano always has the utmost ambition,” Castro said. Ronaldo came to Riyadh after a rough patch and he rose like a phoenix in the first year. “He is someone who easily overcomes a bad period, because of his mental and physical skills and great understanding of football, he has a natural ability to always react,” Castro added.
Last year was quite a successful one for the Portuguese captain. His performances had catapulted Al Nassr’s Arab Club Champions Cup win. Furthermore, Al Nassr is a major title contender in all the competitions they feature. Hence, Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal-scoring riot has not only helped him claim an individual feat but aided his team’s wins. As CR7 and Castro believe, the former has quite a lot of success to chase in 2024.
