Saudi club Al Nassr woke up to the news of board member Qafari Al-Qafari officially submitting his resignation. Moreover, losing 4-1 to Al Hilal hit the club hard and questions loom about the starting eleven’s quality. There are additional issues regarding the club’s next coach. And no wonder, Cristiano Ronaldo is dissatisfied with the club’s affairs.

In a significant development, Al Nassr President Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Muhaidib put his resignation. He decided to step down following disagreements with the Chairman of the Board of Directors Raid Ismail and CEO Guido Fienga. He wanted to fund a new coach from his own pocket and get new players. They rejected the decision, and the president left the club. Now, reports emerged on how Ronaldo aligned with the president’s reasoning.

Following the humbling defeat against Al Hilal, Ronaldo was not against coach, Luis Castro’s sacking. Yet, the club needed world-class players, and he vouched for it. Notably, Ronaldo believes the club allocated a specific budget for the coach’s contract. But he wants those funds to bolster the squad as the team needs better players instead of a fresh coach.

Reports have emerged about Castro not continuing as a coach. Fernando Hierro, the sporting director, has initiated the search for a new coach to guide the team in the upcoming season. The club’s management will not dismiss Castro until they find a replacement. The changes in the club right now are astonishing!

Likewise, Al-Muhaidib, the club president who resigned, also leaned towards Ronaldo’s position. This made Ronaldo displeased with the club’s operations. It brings back the Manchester United saga to our minds.

Meanwhile, reports emerged of pressure from Cristiano Ronaldo to sign four new players after the Super Cup final. He believes the problem is not the coach but the players. If you analyze the starting line-up, Al Nassr addressed certain positions in the previous transfer windows. Sadio Mane offers a great option in the left-wing area, while Marcelo Brozovic controls the midfield.

Yet, the glaring issue becomes the defense. The club lacks a proper full-back and a goalkeeper. David Ospina left the club, and they signed a new replacement in Bento. But there are drawbacks and when compared to Al Hilal, they have a weak squad. It’s not rocket science to understand that a soccer club needs a spine (striker, midfielder, defender, goalkeeper) in their team to become successful.

If you see all the outstanding teams from Manchester City to Real Madrid, they have that. Hence, Ronaldo wants the required budget to sign all these players who can contribute to a strong eleven.
