Gerard Pique is slowly expanding the Kings League to different parts of the globe. While doing so, the 3x UCL winner recently touched down on his ideal seven-a-side team. To the amazement of the hosts of the show, Pique decided to include both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his squad. The surprises, however, did not stop there.

Pique, while picking his team, mentioned a lineup stacked with legends, and not all were Barcelona boys. The World Cup winner took a rather nostalgic road, as he touched on his relationship with the players he has played with and against.

Gerard Pique was an integral part of the World Cup-winning team in 2010, while also playing a crucial part in Barcelona’s golden generation under Pep Guardiola. Having played with some of the biggest names on the planet, it comes as no surprise that the Spaniard wants the cream of the crop for his best seven-a-side in history.

In a recent podcast with the YouTube channel “The Club”, Gerard Pique was asked about seven names who could play for his team. The Barcelona star was pretty sure about the players he wanted in his side, with some of his former teammates taking a few spots. However, Pique decided to stun the hosts when he said he would likely put both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on his dream team.

“I’d say Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi and that’s it. I mean, I would say Wayne Rooney, and I would say a lot of players, but I can put just seven. I had the opportunity to play against a lot of incredible players.” While Pique mentioned the likes of Wayne Rooney, it’s not like the rest of the squad lacks any legends, with the hosts amazed by his pick of names.

The defender picked Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas to stand between the posts, and then went on the explain the composition of his team “For me, I mean our top, uh, in the history of the game, which is football. Uh, maybe the keeper would be Iker Casillas. Defenders may be Rio Ferdinand and [Carlos] Puyol. Then in the midfield, I would say Cesc Fabregas, because he’s like a brother and I think in the Premier League, he’s been one of the greatest midfielders. I would say Iniesta because well he’s Iniesta, and he brought us the World Cup and with that goal, he’s more than enough.”
