This season, there have been a lot of off-the-pitch developments at Al Nassr. Sporting director Goran Vucevic left in December. On top of that, club president Musalli Al Muammar shocked everyone after announcing his resignation. But this hasn’t affected the behind-the-scenes scenario as Al Nassr has a proven track record of making the right decisions. However, the club is set to make its biggest-ever decision, since the monumental signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2023. The Knights of Najd have a project in mind that could generate multiple millions per year! Let’s dive in.

The latest news is that Al Nassr is looking to establish a new academy in addition to the already existing one. It will be located in Northern Riyadh and the enrolment fee for a player will range from $160-213 per month! The club also intends to bring coaches from Spain. Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo’s son is enrolled at the current academy and plays for the U-13 side. In fact, Cristiano Jr even won the league title for the season.

At Al Nassr, the expectation is that a single branch of the new academy could generate around 5 million Riyals. The upper management is hopeful that the first branch will be up and running by August or September of next year. However, this won’t be the only branch. Ronaldo’s club is hopeful of launching 10 such branches within the next 5 years. If all goes according to plan, this would bring the club a staggering revenue of $13.5 million per year. Regardless, such a project will require a significant financial outlay at the start. This doesn’t make it easy for Al Nassr who already missed out on a major financial support.

It seems the Saudi Pro League has set a reward system in place for teams depending on their final league position. To be specific, the rewards come in the form of financial perks. With Al Hilal, pretty much top of the table, it seems inevitable that they will pip Cristiano Ronaldo & Co to become the league’s top beneficiary. As a result, they will get special treatment when it comes to transfer budgets and signing star names. This doesn’t bode well for the Knights of Najd.

There is a big chance that Al Nassr will endure a trophyless season this time around. A major contributing factor to this has been Al Hilal. The two sides have faced each other thrice and on all occasions, Cristiano Ronaldo’s side ended up tasting defeat. Even in the Saudi Super Cup, Al Nassr was eliminated by Al Hilal. Hence, the financial perks will further help to improve Al Hilal’s squad for next season. Also, Neymar Jr will return from injury as well. Hence, Al Nassr’s quest to win the league will be even harder next time around!
