It’s not often that you snub Lionel Messi while building your dream team. La Pulga and Cristiano Ronaldo are usually present in most of the picks by soccer players. However, in a surprising turn of events, Al Nassr star Alex Telles dropped Messi while building his dream team as he decided to go with himself, much to the surprise of the fans.
Alex Telles was asked to build his perfect player by picking one name for each attribute in a short segment with Al Nassr’s social media handle on Instagram. The player, while picking the right foot, started with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, he left everyone stunned with his left foot pick as he picked himself over Lionel Messi. The Portuguese knew what he was doing as he had a quirky smile on his face while making his pick.

He then continued as he picked Kylian Mbappe for speed and Kevin de Bruyne for his vision. Telles then completed his dream player by picking Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr for his dribbling. Now, while his team surely looks great on first look, his decision to pick himself over someone such as Messi did not sit well with the fans.
Many fans responded to the Al Nassr player’s team on social media post bashing him for having “0% knowledge of football.” Another fan questioned his take, stating that despite being a Cristiano fan, he would have taken Lionel Messi as his pick for the left foot. While Telles’ decision might be weird, it isn’t something out of nowhere considering the trolling his captain has faced from the fans in recent months.

Saudi Pro League fans continue to target Cristiano Ronaldo with Lionel Messi chants
Cristiano Ronaldo has been on the receiving end of jeers from rival fans in recent months. Many fans trying to irk the Al Nassr skipper during the games have continued to chant Lionel Messi’s name in unison to get a rise out of the player. Unfortunately, their tactics have worked with Cristiano, often seen losing his calm following the jeers. The Al Nassr skipper tried to clap back last month as he made an obscene gesture towards the fans following the chants, something that did not sit well with the Saudi Arabian authorities.

Following the incident, the Al Nassr skipper was slapped with a one-match ban alongside a hefty fine for violating the league’s laws. Reports also added that the higher-ups in the league were not impressed with the player’s actions, considering many young fans watch the player and might emulate his actions. However, it seems like things haven’t changed even after his return as the match against Al Ahli saw fans once again take it to Cristiano with their constant chanting, frustrating the Al Nassr skipper.
