After the impressive start to the season, it seems the wheels are coming off for Al Nassr. On the field, the team has not yet tasted much success. Failure to win the King Cup could result in a trophy-less season for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. However, even behind the scenes, the team is witnessing a major makeover. As per the latest reports, the Knights of Najd are willing to part ways with Deloitte, a leading audit and consultancy firm.

Reports on X state that Al Nassr is working to terminate the services of Deloitte within a month. The reason has not been revealed and it is still unknown if Al Nassr has agreed terms with another company. Deloitte’s work with the club was aimed at building a new administrative, financial and legal organization and keeping up with the current development of sports in the country.

Deloitte has also been known to prepare financial analyses for clubs and leagues. Notably, they had prepared a financial review of the Saudi Pro League’s transfer window in 2023. At this stage, it is not yet known how the departure of the multi-billion company will impact Cristiano Ronaldo’s side. However, there is a possibility that this could be linked to the slew of administrative changes at the club recently.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr faces leadership shuffle behind the scenes

Recently, reports emerged that Al Nassr’s president Musalli Al Muammar resigned from his job. Notably, Muammar was the president of the Roshn Saudi League from 2018 to 2020 and later joined the club in 2021. Muammar also played a pivotal role in the signing of superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane. The club is on the search for a new president and it is believed that an interim official will serve the job for the remainder of the season. However, Muammar is not the only high-profile departure.

Prince Khalid bin Fahd, who played a key role in Muammar’s appointment wants to leave the club as well. Additionally, the entire board of directors is also reportedly keen to follow Fahd’s route. This means Al Nassr would have to conduct new elections. It is not yet known if these departures are related to the club’s on-field performances. However, it is likely that the upper management wouldn’t be happy with the team’s performances in the last two seasons. Even with the signing of a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr is yet to win a major trophy under Luis Castro.

What do you think of Al Nassr’s performance this season? Do you think the recent leadership shuffle has anything to do with the team’s poor showing on the pitch? Let us know in the comments below.
