Days after reports of interest, Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al Nassr has finally launched an offer for Kevin De Bruyne. Saudi is clearly not joking around, as they want to make the signing and they want it fast, with the Belgian touted to arrive by this winter transfer window. To match the interest of the club and the player, Al Nassr has reportedly prepared a worldly bid and is ready to offer staggering wages to lure the City midfielder to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kevin De Bruyne had a spectacular season last year, winning the treble with Manchester City. Due to his exceptional performances for City, the Belgian came fourth in the race for this year’s Ballon d’Or. However, nearing the end of his career, it won’t be a shock if the 32-year-old City star propels for a change.

Recent reports suggest that Al Nassr is prepared to offer Manchester City $75 million as a signing fee for the Belgian international. While also tripling up his current $495,000 wages at the club. Kevin De Bruyne signed a contract extension last in 2021, which runs until 2025.

It would surely be a difficult but not impossible endeavor for the Knights of Najd to get their hands on this marquee talent. De Bruyne has been at the club since 2015 after City signed him from VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. Since then, the Belgian has been an instrumental cog in Pep’s team. While the dynamic midfielder might end up making the move, what’s been the scene with Cristiano Ronaldo at the club?

Al Nassr seemingly would be losing out on Ronaldo’s services in 2026. The Saudi club is very eager to extend the Portuguese winger’s contract but CR7 has different plans in store.

Tough luck for Al Nassr as Ronaldo rejects contract extension

In a surprising turn of events, Cristiano Ronaldo has opted for a contract extension with Al Nassr, pushing his commitment until 2026, rather than the initially proposed 2027. This decision carries considerable weight, given that Ronaldo will be over 40 years old by 2026. It would also mark Ronaldo’s final attempt to solidify his legacy with aspirations of winning the FIFA World Cup.

The potential rejection of an extension beyond 2026 could be a severe blow to Al Nassr. Currently, there’s still time and the club is doing everything they can to persuade him to continue his journey in Riyadh. A development also indicated CR7’s desire to maintain his association with Al Nassr even after retiring. Ronaldo’s deep emotional connection to Al Nassr, as he is said to consider it not only as a club but his home, family, residence, and an integral part of his life, makes it a difficult task to part ways with the club.
