Following an impressive start to the season, it looks like the wheels are falling off at Al Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. have been knocked out of the AFC Champions League while sitting 12 points behind Al Hilal in the league. Hence, there is a stark possibility that a trophyless campaign could be on the cards! Well, what could the ramifications of a sub-par season be? Perhaps, the recent reports might paint a picture.

Per reports on X, Khalid bin Fahd, one of the Presidents at the club, wants to leave along with his entire board of directors! It is not yet known if the move is related to the club’s recent performances on the pitch. Also, the Knights of Najd are yet to confirm anything officially, and the news right now needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, it was only as recently as December that reports had emerged of a big presidential shakeup at the club, which ultimately proved to be false.

Replacing the Chief and Board of Directors would mean new elections. For Cristiano Ronaldo’s side, this is needless drama at this stage of the season. Also, a new President is not the only executive Al Nassr needs, as the club is still on the lookout for a new Sporting Director.

Al Nassr was snubbed by the Sporting Director, who was recommended by Cristiano Ronaldo!

Miguel Ribeiro was Al Nassr’s No. 1 target for the Sporting Director role. He had previously worked in Portuguese clubs Rio Ave FC and Famalicao and his work had impressed both Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Castro. However, he has reportedly rejected the approach from the Saudi side and reportedly even issued an apology to the club.

The decision was quite a surprise to the upper management, who expected him to sign the contract. Since the departure of Goran Vucevic in December, the Knights of Najd have been without a Sporting Director. The lack of such a key position will definitely hurt the club in the transfer market. Especially, if Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. need further signings from Europe to boost their chances of success in the next season.
