Cristiano Ronaldo‘s two seasons in Saudi Arabia might be for naught if his side cannot get past Al Khaleej tonight. Despite having a talented roster at his disposal, head coach Luis Castro has failed to produce desired results. The team has been unsuccessful in their title quests, with the pre-season Arab Cup the only trophy in their cabinet. Reports are suggesting that Al Nassr is looking to improve their situation by hiring a new head coach. However, their search might hit a massive roadblock!

According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr has turned their attention to Porto head coach Sérgio Conceição following Luis Castro’s failure to reach the desired expectations. However, the Saudi Arabian outfit is not the only team interested in the Portuguese tactician’s services. Italian giant AC Milan has identified Conceição as their second pick if they cannot land Antonio Conte.

Milan’s interest could be enough to sway the Porto head coach, who’d be interested in taking over the reputed club. While Cristiano Ronaldo’s side undoubtedly has the advantage with its financial firepower, rejecting the chance to oversee a Champions League project would be a tough bargain. If the side cannot secure Sérgio Conceição’s services, the team might have to stick with Luis Castro forcing them back to square one.

Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on winning his first title with Al Nassr

While Al Nassr ultras would scurry to count the Arab Champions Cup as a trophy, the pre-season titles rarely hold any weight. The bitter truth is Cristiano Ronaldo and his side, despite their valiant attempts, have failed to get their hands on any major silverware in the last two seasons. Al Nassr has done a great job building a fascinating team around their talisman. Despite that, their efforts have been in vain, with the team yet to find any success.

While the Knights of Najd may be 12 points behind table-toppers, Al Hilal in the league standings, the Al Nassr skipper wants to give his all until the final fixture. Realistically, the team’s best chance of winning a trophy this season lies within the King’s Cup.

Al Nassr is currently in the semi-finals of the tournament. Cristiano and his men will face Al Khaleej later tonight’s first semi-finals of the competition.
