Al Nassr was forced to bite the bullet after their China tour was postponed. The eagerly awaited fixtures to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. face Zhejiang and Shanghai Shenhua have sadly been derailed, leaving both side’s hopes unmet and their passionate supporters disappointed. With both fixtures not bound to happen, Al Nassr is now bracing themselves to face a David Beckham led-Inter Miami. However, a late twist emerges as Luis Castro’s side might just sneak in another game before they embark on their Riyadh Season Cup.
The impending ‘Last Dance’ between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be played on February 1. Although Al Nassr had the chance to warm up in the friendlies against both Chinese sides before their domestic competition, they now have a different idea. As per the reports from Saudi journalist Muhammad Al-Atifi, head coach Luis Castro has urged the management to schedule another fixture in place for the postponed Chinese tour.
The Portuguese tactician wants to play a friendly before facing Lionel Messi and Co. As of now, there are no reports on whether the chiefs at Al Nassr will consider this proposition, considering the risks involved. To begin with, Al Nassr would need to find an opponent within three days, which is more than impossible. Next, playing two matches within the same week would increase the chances of players getting sidelined with no time to recover.

Luis Castro is certainly in no position to lose any of his players because of injury. Hence, it remains to be seen if the Saudi Arabian giants are ready to take that risk. Meanwhile, the possibility of a China tour still exists, despite its cancellation.

Al Nassr had flagged Ronaldo’s injury as the reason for the tour’s postponement at a press conference. The Portuguese superstar even apologized to the Chinese fans and promised them to be back soon. But for now, the China tour isn’t the biggest priority out there. Rather, it’s the match against Inter Miami, as Ronaldo might not recover in time and miss the clash. Let’s hope he can play for a few minutes, alongside Messi.
