The Al Nassr skipper and his former boss had a public fallout after the player went all in on the Dutchman in an interview with Piers Morgan. While discussing his Manchester United return, Cristiano slammed the club, stating nothing has changed since he last played for the club. He also clarified his thoughts on Erik ten Hag, stating he had no respect for the Dutchman.

The Ex-United star has had a memorable run at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho. However, he saw himself slip down the pecking order following Erik ten Hag’s arrival. Nonetheless, Bailly still witnessed an iconic moment with club icon Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the team in 2021.
Bailly talked about Cristiano’s return in an interview with the Athletic stating, “Cristiano Ronaldo returned, the legend coming back. He was the best player in the world for me. Even when he returned, Cristiano contributed a lot to the club, and a player like Cristiano deserves to feel important. It’s a shame he left in the circumstances he did.”
Cristiano was having a turbulent time under Erik ten Hag at the club, with the manager opting for other names over the Portuguese star in his first eleven. It did not sit well with the former United star, who believed the manager was not using him correctly.

The ex-Manchester United star arrived back at Old Trafford with a lot of hype in 2021. While he had a great start, things turned sour during the second season following Erik ten Hag’s arrival. His frustrations got the better of him during an interview with Piers Morgan in 2022 as he went all in on Ten Hag.
While talking about Erik ten Hag, Cristiano stated, “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”
The interview had immediate consequences. Manchester United was not pleased with the player dishing out the dirty laundry to the public. The club was quick to act as they terminated his contract. Following his release, Cristiano signed a massive $500 million deal with the Saudi side Al Nassr, moving to the Saudi Pro League.
