Argentina vs. Colombia delay—Who's to blame for this mess?

The Copa America 2024 final is off to a bad start. Well, the word start doesn’t mean the match is underway as both Argentina and Colombia haven’t even made it to the pitch. Chaos is all over the Hard Rock Stadium which has seen the kick-off get delayed. But what has all the commotion been about and why exactly the match hasn’t started till now?

Unfortunately, this has occurred because of poor management from the organizers of the event. Fans of both nations are suffering due to the negligence of the concerned authorities while organizing the final. The supporters who paid for tickets didn’t get the best services and failed to get inside the venue with ease. This apparently created havoc as the crowd went out of control.

As per the reports, security couldn’t handle the supporters, who frustratedly enough tried to enter the stadium by storm. In fact, it created a stampede-like situation which even saw a few of the fans get injured. Additionally, as per soccer analyst Pablo Graveloni, more than 50% of the crowd is outside and is yet to make it to the stadium. If the situation stays the same then it would be impossible to get the match underway. That’s not all as the final might even get postponed to another day.

Notably, if the game starts and people are still outside, any situation can arise. It would certainly leave the fans outside the stadium infuriated as they wouldn’t like to miss even the slightest of the action for which they have paid thousands of dollars. Clearly, it is an irresponsibility from the organizers as they are the ones to be blamed for these peculiarities.
