It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Manchester United are digging a rabbit’s hole. The club is running from pillar to post, buying players that are not proving worth their effort. Let alone the accumulating frustration of fans, even former players are drawing blanks on the club’s decisions over the years. This time it’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is under fire by a former teammate for not signing Erling Haaland.
The most successful club in the Premier League is searching for answers to their shortcomings. After spending more than $600 million in the last 5 years, the team is still not able to get that one player who can turn things around.

The Red Devils have not yet gathered a stable team. In spite of spending so much on players, they seem to move out of the club sooner or later. But one of the club’s legends, Dwight Yorke, called out previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for not sealing Erling Haaland’s deal. According to Manchester Evening News, Yorke said, “I think we missed the boat with Haaland. There was an opportunity under Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] to have got him, from what I know. We could have gone out there and paid over the odds. We have been paying over the odds.”
The fired manager earlier claimed that the club had the chance of signing the Norwegian. However, the owners brushed the proposal aside and did not give the former player the needed support. The former player and coach of the club had already managed Haaland at Molde.
Contrarily, Yorke felt that United did not do their best to sign such a player. The former striker was also baffled by their overspending. The club went on to bring in players like Rasmus Hojlund for $92.5 million this summer.

The last year’s signing from Real Madrid has underperformed this season with repeated injuries. On the other hand, neither Mount nor the Danish star opened the scoring in the Premier League.
