Who says only Marvel has a Captain America? The beautiful game also boasts its own fictional hero—maybe not with the same physical aesthetics or a US-themed shield, but one who fits the role remarkably well. No wonder that Christian Pulisic has earned this title. While many might gladly embrace such a nickname, the USMNT star remains skeptical about being called Captain America. This prompted none other than Zlatan Ibrahimović to urge Pulisic to embrace the title, sparking a reaction from the AC Milan star.

This request from the Swedish icon came to light in the upcoming documentary of the 26-year-old winger, PULISIC, courtesy of Paramount+. While being interviewed, Zlatan touched on this topic, saying, “He’s known for being the Captain America yeah? But he doesn’t like to be called Captain America. He doesn’t maybe see himself like a superhero. He’s playing low profile and feet on the ground but it’s not the case. You are Captain America.”

“I don’t give a s**t what you say, you are. If that’s more pressure on you, I don’t care. It’s his own fault, I’m sorry to say, If you weren’t so good, we wouldn’t ask nothing from you,” concluded Ibra. Interestingly, CBS Sports Golazo posted this snippet on Instagram, which caught Pulisic’s attention. Seeing what his domestic club icon had to say, Christian reshared the reel on Instagram stories along with a caption saying, “🤣🤣.”

Looks like Pulisic finds it hilarious how frantically Ibrahimovic wants him to accept the fact that he is indeed Captain America. Well, it’s not because the AC Milan winger captains his nation. Of course, the request is from a performance perspective, as the former Chelsea star is one dynamic player who just tends to have all the qualities of Captain America.

It’s not the first time Zlatan has addressed Pulisic as Captain America. In an interview earlier, Milan’s senior advisor said, “I think Christian is our ‘Captain America’. He is doing extraordinary things, you can see that he is happy; being at Milan makes every player happy. This is not just my opinion; every player would tell you the same thing.”

What’s your perspective on:

Should Pulisic embrace the 'Captain America' title, or is Zlatan pushing him too hard?
