Looks like the 2025 NWSL season is full of surprises. Not a single minute passes each day as we stumble upon some remarkable developments. Well, similar is the latest one from Angel City FC, who unveiled one of the most historic milestones anyone in the league has achieved by finally cutting the ribbon of their new Performance Center. In fact, Christen Press seems more than excited about it and even fired a one-word response over this latest outcome.
Everything’s coming up rosy so far for ACFC, as luck has favored their conquests. The latest one includes moving into a new extraordinary training facility headquarters at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The news about their new performance center came to light around the end of last year, with owners Willow Bay and Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, finally cutting the ribbon.
Interestingly, Angel City shared a few glimpses of the new facility across all of its social media. Likewise, a carousel featured on their official Instagram account was shared by Christen Press on her stories. Additionally, she wrote a caption saying, “Home.”

One can evidently sense pride within the 36-year-old to see herself and her beloved team get access to some of the most state-of-the-art training facilities. Notably, in the shared glimpses, Christen Press, alongside her fellow teammate Ali Riley, was pictured cutting the ribbon with the owners of the club.

Other snaps showcased the reactions of all the players who took part in the inauguration ceremony. From the looks of it, everyone was left awestruck to see the new performance center, where they would begin their training ahead of the 2025 campaign.
Notably, this development comes just days after Press announced her return to action. The veteran forward signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles, California-based club. Christen wrote “LA, it was always you,” while commenting on her return from an unfortunate ACL tear that saw her miss more than a couple of years of action on the pitch.

Regardless, one shall be hopeful that these significant developments motivate the team to ply their trade for success, let alone the fact of how remarkably the owners are keeping up with the good work. Speaking of which, let’s dive deeper to know more about Angel City FC’s new ‘Home.’
All about Christen Press and Co.’s new performance center
Spread across 9 acres, Angel City’s new facility features a full-sized training pitch, along with space for a smaller half-sized pitch, and 50,000 square feet of indoor area, making it the largest facility in the NWSL dedicated exclusively to one team. The club didn’t invest millions to build it from the ground up; rather, they’ve taken over the space previously used by the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, who recently moved to their new performance center in Woodland Hills.

Additional amenities include a 5,400-square-foot gym, three locker rooms, a film room, a medical treatment and hydrotherapy area, and a children’s playroom, among other facilities. Though the exact amount wasn’t disclosed by Angel City refurbishing the facility, they described it as a “multimillion-dollar custom renovation.”
Looks like Angel City has just one motto in their minds for the upcoming season: Onwards and upwards!
