Flashy hairstyles are a part of soccer. David Beckham donned some of the most iconic hairstyles, and fans wanted to try each one of them. Yet, some felt displeased at his antics. Notably, Sir Alex Ferguson had an issue with one of Becks’ hairstyles, a story that is entrenched in the folklore of Manchester United. For someone as style-centric as Beckham, it seems there is no stopping the fashion icon.
In his latest social media Instagram story, the Class of ‘92 graduate posted a new hairstyle while revealing his reasons for taking such a drastic step. The new look is reminiscent of what Sir Alex forced him to do before a match in 2000, almost 23 years ago.

In his recent Instagram story, Beckham showed off his skinhead look, the one hairstyle he donned in 2000, because of Fergie. He captioned, “Nothing much changes get bored of my hair chop it off.” To some people, he is the epitome of pulling off stunning hairstyles, and still remains a fashion icon to this day. Unlike fans, however, Sir Alex never loved his flashy hairstyles.
Beckham and Sir Alex had a rocky relationship, and all went haywire before the Chelsea Charity Shield game. In addition to the skinhead and dreadlocks, he sported the iconic mohawk hairstyle. David got the cut before the game and came to the stadium with a beanie on his head. But when he dropped off from the bus, Sir Alex was pissed.
He recalled the incident, “Sure enough, within seconds of the unveiling, he yelled at me, ‘Go and shave it off!’ I thought he was joking. ‘No, I’m being serious, now go and shave the ruddy thing off!’” “So I had to find a pair of clippers and I shaved it off in Wembley Stadium. Manager always rules.” Although they had issues, Beckham loves Ferguson and respects him.
